Welcome to TradeStart
TradeStart is a programme run by Hutt City Council to encourage and help people, particularly school leavers, into skilled jobs.
TradeStart is an easily accessible point of contact for anyone wanting to investigate the possibility of working in any industry or profession that requires on-going training either on site or in conjunction with an ITO or training provider. Some are called apprentices, other cadets, interns, or trainees, and not necessarily in industries that are traditionally called a ‘trade’.
Whatever the question, and from whatever source, any skills based query will be evaluated and followed up, either with a chat with a TradeStart staff member, or direct referral to an appropriate agency or ITO.
The service is free and available to anyone of any age, simply by dropping in to the centre in City Plaza, using the reply e-mail tradestart@huttcity.govt.nz or calling the centre 04 566 0014.
