How do I get started ?

The easiest way to get your career started is to drop into the Trade Information Centre and talk about what you would really like to do, maybe one very strong desire, maybe several.

A staff member should then be able to supply you information about a chosen apprenticeship or career and the pathways you can take to achieve that goal.

It may be that you need more school credits and so further time at school or a catch-up course could be recommended.

Perhaps other skills are needed that are provided by a training institution and you can be directed to the right place.

TradeStart staff have strong links to the Industry Training Organisations and can arrange a chat with one of their advisors to get a more in-depth idea of the particular trade or occupation that you want.

All that is required is some of your time, so you have nothing to lose, call or visit the Trade Information Centre and get TradeStart working for you.

The service is free and available to anyone of any age, simply by dropping in to the centre in Centre City Plaza, using the reply e-mail:tradestart@huttcity.govt.nz or call us @ 04 566 0014
